The Musketeer My Score: 8/10 The Musketeer was a decent movie about your basic Three Musketeers. This one was a little different because it focuses on one of the Musketeers. There wasn’t a lot of known actors. The acting could've been a little better and a few of the parts looked fake, but besides that, this was a pretty good movie. MoViE ZoNe Review: *SPOILERS AHEAD* The movie starts with D’Artagan as a little kid, his father and mother are murdered by Febre and D’Artagan is left to be raised by someguy. The movie then skips 14 years later where D’Artagan is trying to become a Musketeer like his father. At this point in time though, not many people want to be Musketeers. The Cardinal is working on taking control with the help of Febre, but Febre loses his mind and kidnaps the queen with intentions to kill her, all of the king's Musketeer’s unite and save her, and in an awesome last battle, D’Artagan kills Febre. The thing that was awesome about this movie was the action, the movie is filled with awesome battle scenes, from start to finish, and the other two Musketeers add the humor to the movie. The Musketeer also did a good job of recreating that time period. All and all, it was a pretty good movie, if you like this type of action (sword fighting, etc) then you will love this movie. Quotes Pothos: I just knew he was going to blow something up. Francesca: You behave as though you’ve never seen a naked woman. D’Artagan: Heh. Never one quote so….uh..naked….or…or so beautiful. Francesca: You’ve seen many ugly naked woman? D’Artagan: That’s not what I meant. Athos: Wondering around in a sewer, you consider this the test of a man? Aramis: There is a certain lack of dignity in it. Aramis: Was he talking to you or me? Athos: Me! Aramis: I thought I was the baker? Athos: There’s blood on your apron, you think that came from a crusant? Aramis: Oh right. Twisted My Score 8/10 Twisted was a pretty good film, keeps you guessing till the very end (and I was still wrong, lol). Now this movie is based around the twists, so if you want to enjoy it, then it would be wise not to read the MoViE ZoNe Review, if you could give two sh*ts, then by all means, feel free too. Anyway, the acting was awesome, Samuel L Jackson, Andy Garcia, and Ashley Judd gave spectacular performances. Some parts did drag a little and there’s never really a point where the film grabs you and doesn’t let go till the end. MoViE ZoNe Review: *SPOILERS AHEAD* It starts with Jessica Shepard (Ashley Judd) arresting this murderer, then she’s promoted to Homicide. She meets up with her new partner, Mike Delmarco (Andy Garcia). John Mills (Samuel L Jackson), the commissioner, raised Jessica because her father went on a killing spree, ending with her mother, then killed himself. Jessica goes around bars and sleeps with random guys, don’t know why, she just does sometimes. Her first case on Homicide turns out to be a serial killer. The thing is, all of the victims are guys she’s slept with. Everything points to her, she blacks out every night one of them is killed, she has a connection with each guy, etc. Now at first I thought it was her old partner, jealous about all these guys, and trying to protect her, but I quickly changed my suspicion to her psychiatrist. But it ends up I was way off. She eventually gets put in prison, but John gets her out because she didn’t do it, she was drugged, roofies. So every night she would pass out, it was because someone was putting roofies in her wine and then going out and killing these guys. Who has access to her place? Knows where she will be at all times in case they need to get in touch with her, etc? Her partner. So John and Jessica go to Mike’s house, where John drugs Mike and is about to kill him the same way he killed all the rest, that’s right, John is the murderer! Jessica doesn’t believe it and just watches. John sets up the scene so it looks like Mike killed himself, and that’s when Jessica started thinking about the photos of her father’s suicide crime scene, and it looked a lot like this one, the arrangement, the story, etc. So this is when Jessica figures it out that John is the one that killed all the people her father had supposedly killed, then he killed her mother and her father. So she keeps John at gunpoint, giving Mike a chance to run, John chases after him and then he admits what he’s done to Jessica, who has her cell phone on with her old partner and the head of Homicide on the other line. So John says he’s done well in teaching her and is about to shoot Mike, but Jessica shoots and kills John, the end. So as you can see if you read the MoViE ZoNe review, it was a complete twist in the end, a good ending at that. As stated above, the movie has a hard time keeping you hooked but they do a decent job. Some of the movie drags, it gets a little repetitive but they tie it all to and end perfectly. If you want a good crime drama with a twist, definitely check this one out. Quote John: Rule #1, to be a cop, you have to be crazy. |
